Key Focus Areas
Citizens should be able to express themselves freely, to organize in groups for a common purpose, and to gather together to make their voices heard: here we mean the freedoms of expression, association, and peaceful assembly. In light of that, MEDEA has seen the importance of putting an emphasis on addressing the importance of civic space and hence we are more focused on:
Freedom of Expression
We believe that voicing one’s opinions is the most effective way for citizens to influence change. We encourage citizens’ communication with their local authorities to explore issues affecting their society through our open community dialogue strategy.
Youth participation in governance and policy-making
To represent the voices of these social classes, which make up the majority, in the governing bodies, youth and women must be present. By doing this, we guarantee leadership positions are filled equally, but more importantly, we guarantee the presentation of what we call ‘the next generation’.
